Mango is a delightful tropical fruit, renowned for its sweet taste and juicy, nutrient-rich flesh. It is versatile and can be enjoyed in a variety of culinary creations.
Choose mangoes that are sufficiently firm and have a yellow-green skin with hints of red. Their ripeness will be indicated by the strong fruity aroma they emit. It's advisable to steer clear of mangoes that feel soft to the touch or have skin blemishes.
The flesh, juicy and delicious, can be a bit tricky to detach from the stone seed. To prepare the mango, start by washing it. Try holding the end with the stem, then slice the skin into quarters and peel it back, similar to peeling a banana. Following this, use a sharp knife to gently slide along the stone and remove it. Mangoes have a wide range of uses - you can enjoy them as a fresh snack, add them to smoothies, make sorbet or incorporate them into salad dressings
Agrolink harvests mangoes before they fully ripen. After a series of processes, they are stored in 4kg boxes in refrigerated rooms before being shipped in temperature-controlled vessels to their final destination. The mangoes arrive in a firm state, where they ripen within 4 to 6 days at room temperature.
